The small town of Homer is located on the southern tip of Alaska's spectacular Kenai Peninsula, where the waters of Kachemak Bay, Cook Inlet and the Gulf of Alaska converge to produce one of the world's most productive marine environments. The abundance of food in these cool, clean waters grows some truly gargantuan halibut. Every year sport anglers fishing out of Homer land halibut over 300 pounds in weight.

Captain Jerry Smart has many years experience on these Alaskan waters and consistently puts his clients onto the hottest fishing action available. It's not uncommon while fishing with SMART CHARTERS to have every angler on board hooked into fish at the same time!

When you book a fishing tip with SMART CHARTERS you'll be fishing aboard one of Homer's most luxurious sport fishing vessels. The "Smart One" is a thirty foot fiberglass Penn-Yan hull. It's twelve foot beam provides a stable and roomy fishing platform and allows Captain Jerry's anglers to fish safely and comfortably in sea conditions that might drive other vessels back to port. Twin diesel engines push the "Smart One" at a safe and dependable 22 knots. Naturally, the "Smart One's" heated cabin contains all the amenities you'd expect to find in a fine yacht, along with state of the art navigation and fishfinding systems. You'll ride in safety and comfort while enjoying the views of snowcapped volcanoes, whales, sea otters and puffins.

Giving a helping hand.

In order to maximize your Alaskan fishing experience Captain Smart limits his fishing charters to six sportsmen per trip. The cost is $135 per person. If a group of less than six people wants to insure their privacy SMART CHARTERS will allow them to book the entire boat for $750. Bait, tackle and fish filleting is included in these prices. Don't miss out - book early!!!
