A LIFE WELL-LIVED

What makes life worth living? Relationships? Work? Children? Achievement? Peace of mind? Knowing God? There are as many answers as there are people. And just as many stumbling blocks. Everyone at some point of life will face times of crisis. Important decisions, death, marital difficulty, the threat of suicide, adolescent "acting out", job changes. A sympathetic trained counselor can be of great help in sorting out issues and making critical decisions.

At other times we may recognize a need for a deeper personal awareness and growth. We experience behaviors and feelings in ourselves that we do not fully understand and cannot control--a long standing over-anxiousness, a tendency towards too-quick anger, repeated difficulties in interpersonal relationships, unresolved problems with parents, addictive behaviors, uncertainty about God's love and forgiveness. With a sensitive counselor these can often not only be understood, but changed in a positive way.

MAKING POSITIVE CHANGES

Counseling is a process of finding healing and wholeness and becoming more fully what God intended. The process may be short or it may be time-consuming, depending upon the nature of one's difficulty and the willingness to work at growth. It involves learning about oneself, getting in touch with feelings, taking greater initiative for one's life, getting "unstuck", and learning to identify and make new choices. The result is a fulfilling life and greater emotional and spiritual well-being.
