Irene Farrera
We were enchanted by Irene Farrera--Her rhythm, songs, voice and
the instruments ( the six- stringed guitar and a cautro, which is
a Venezuelan four -stringed guitar). Farrera is Venezuelan-born
daughter of the,"Nueva Trova," and is a sultry Latina Chanteuse.
Irene performed selections from a wide variety of influential Latin
American composers, including her own works, which take the listener
on a musical journey from remote Chile to the rancheras of northern
Mexico.

Mike
Morgan
and Byran Bowers
We had a delightful evening listening to
Byran Bowers
and Mike Morgan. Those of you who missed this concert
robbed yourself of a great experience.
Kasilof guitarist,
Mike Morgan, teaches music at the Kenai Peninsula College and
he has his own band, playing both professionally and for pleasure.
Singer, songwriter,
master autoharpist and storyteller Bryan Bowers visited us
again in Seldovia (concert 2 years ago). He also had a booking at
the Alaska State Fair this year.

Bill
Morrissey
Grammy Nominee - Folk Blues
Bill

Morrissey performed the songs of Delta Blues Man
Mississippi John Hurt on his album, "The Songs of Mississippi John
Hurt" (Philo Records). He is one of the best songwriters on the
contemporary folk scene, and has been nominated for two Grammy awards
for his "country folk" blues. Recently, Bill Morrissey released
his "Something I Saw or Thought I Saw" (Philo) featuring his new
songs which revisit his troubadour's life in concentrated, focused
vignettes about a classic set of characters: the temptress, the
cad, and all those who " linger long past when others have left."
Bill reflects on his remarkable experiences and gracefully reinvests
himself in the simple pleasures that first inclined him toward that
lifestyle. A soulful voice meets a fertile literary imagination
in songs profoundly musical.
