Celtic Harp and Stories by Patrick Ball. In late July, Patrick Ball brought The Fine Beauty of the Island to Seldovia. Patrick is a contemporary bard who uses the Celtic harp, penny whistle, and his own Irish brogue to transport you to another world. Although there is only one man on stage, his stories, researched history, and dark humor create a pub-full of characters.

Patrick’s wife Susan R. Ball, a talented oil painter, was in Seldovia and taught a class on plein-air painting (meaning literally, painting in the open air). This one-time botanist and biologist is fascinated by the structure and function of plants and loves painting out of doors, so all of Seldovia was the studio. View Page on Workshop. |
